Pretentious Food & Simple Fare

Last Tuesday evening, I met up with both Rightie and Adeline for dinner at Crystal Jade in Takashimaya. It was nice to see both of them again ; ) As usual, we chatted happily between morsels of seafood bee hoon, marinated chicken feet, coffee ribs, seafood fried rice, wanton noodles and garlic prawns (What a feast!) Though we were so damn full, we insisted on having desserts to round up the meal : P Both of them had iced red bean dessert whereas I had black sesame glutinous rice balls covered in peanut shavings : ) I felt fat...(Boo)

As for Wednesday evening, I went to City Hall MRT station to meet up with King Kong before walking over to John Little for Godma - She had wanted to go shopping before our dinner at Waraku. However, due to certain reasons, we ended up sipping ocha and nibbling fried softshell crab, tempura sushi and fried tofu while waiting for Godpa. He arrived at 7pm and we began tucking into the wonderful Japanese dishes : ) We proceeded to Xin Wang HK Cafe for desserts (glutinous rice balls in sesame paste and Chinese tea for me : ) ) as we felt that there was not much variety for desserts in Waraku. We spoke about the SPI forum, Godpa's adventures in France and his love for Spanish ham : ) Time flies and we parted as Godma was showing signs of lethargy (She was dropping obvious hints that she wanted to go home and rest when Godpa kept rattling about the French culture!) Both King Kong and I had a stroll along Esplanade before we took the bus home : )

As for yesterday, I was pissed with King Kong for not being able to accompany for dinner because he needed to work at night >: ( (Yes, I was throwing tantrums again) I refused to go lunch with him (I refused to see him) Worried that I might go hungry, he sneaked out during tea-break to buy spicy salmon gunkan from Sakae Sushi for me. As I had no dinner plans, I stayed back in the office to finish up the Powerpoint slides meant for tomorrow's workshop before taking a train home. By the time I reached Queenstown MRT station, it was already 7:30pm (My mixed veggie stall had closed for the day) I decided to have simple fare for dinner, hence I went to NTUC and bought kale, a tin of tomato sardines, a bunch of bananas and 2 packets of milk. My last meal of the day consisted of porridge, boiled kale in oyster sauce and Gramp's leftover fish in chilli and beanpaste : )

Well, he's not free again this evening : ( Anyway, I am going to have my oily massage and cold wraps later on : ) Time to lose the excess pounds and firm up the skin! : ) Not sure what I am going to do after that; anyway, it sucks to know that I have to wake up at 6:45am for the stupid workshop! Arghhhhhhh!!!

Simple fare of porridge and kale in oyster sauce : )

Having a mini snooze while waiting for the porridge to simmer..
