Happy National Day

Happy National Day! Don't be mistaken. I am not happy over the nation's 42nd year of independence, I am just happy that today is a public holiday! Yay~!~ I woke up late, had Aunt's home cooked fried noodles and slacked in front of the PC. Yes! This is life!

Yesterday had absolutely no mood to work at all. All I did was to randomly browse through resumes, input my remarks in the SPI forum and walked in and out to the Ladies' with Adeline : ) Both of us were excited about going to Vivocity to have dinner at Bosses and catch "881" with Jacintha : ) Initially had wanted to go to Timbre with her best friend, Gabrielle, but at the last minute, she could not make it.

The 3 of us left the office immediately after our 6pm debrief : ) Took the train to Harbourfront and after purchasing the movie tickets, we headed for Bosses. The ambience was more of Hong Kong style, with Cantonese oldies playing in the background. As for the main dishes of Sze Chuan Chicken, Honey Grilled Pork Ribs, Sweet & Sour Fish with Pine Nuts and Spinach in Stock, it was average. Guess I still prefer Crystal Jade : ) However, as for the desserts, it was good. We ordered Buns stuffed with Red Bean Paste and Banana and I must say it tasted unique : ) Due to Adeline's curiosity, we also ordered their specialty Silky Custard Buns. Every bun is deep-fried to golden brown and it is filled with steaming liquid custard. As I was very full and of course, diet-conscious, I forfeited my bun to Adeline, who gobbled it without battling an eyelid. She is damn lucky for having such a high metabolism rate : ( Guess if I were to follow her diet, I would have been a fatty now : (

What surprised me was that Jacintha could click well with us. Topics were never ending and there was no hint of debate. Outside working hours, she was very different from the kooky girl with weird mannerisms. Well, how I wish Ellen Lee can cease her dislike towards Jacintha and it will definitely be good if all of us can go out together instead of "either Ellen Lee or Jacintha Cheong" schedule.

After a good dinner and chat, we proceeded to watch "881". Good show with a myriad of colorful getai costumes and Hokkien songs. Guess local productions are improving with taste : ) Kudos to Jack Neo, who paved the treacherous path for blooming local directors (like Royston Tan).

Right now, I am looking forward to tomorrow's pre-birthday celebration for Adeline at Melt Restaurant in The Oriental Hotel : ) I believe I am going to have many many snapshots of the happy memories!
