Today is finally Monday and I am sad that Bro has to be enlisted for National Service : ( Woke up in the morning to find Daddy, Mummy, Gramps and Aunt Maddy assembled in the living room, with Bro :~ ( The atmosphere was sad with Gramps sobbing and Aunt Maddy red-eyed (Initially, I had wanted to apply for leave to accompany him, but on second thoughts, I was afraid that I might join in the tearing session, so...) What irony - When we were much younger, we disliked each other and hoped that either one would get lost, but right now, we actually missed each other...Man!I am so sad. Nobody is going to open the door for me whenever I forgot my keys! Nobody is going to accompany me for dinner when I have no programs! Nobody is going to bring Boyboy into my room whenever I feel lazy to do so! : ~ (
Last Friday evening, after work, I rushed to Marina Square to have my massage and cold wrap before meeting up with Aunt Maddy, Fat Boy and Bro at Waraku for dinner (I promised the latter a farewell dinner : ( ) Actually, I hate farewell dinners because there is simply nothing much to talk - Everything is so tear-sensitive. We started to talk about anything except his enlistment. There was not much of an appetite too (which might be a good thing too as I did not burn a big hole in my pocket : P ) After dinner, we proceeded to Swenson's for ice cream aws Fat Boy wanted to give Bro a farewell treat too. Satisfied our sugar cravings with a large-sized "Earthquake" before we headed home.
As for Saturday afternoon, I met up with King Kong before we went to Eastpoint to stock up biscuits, bread and water for the paranormal experiment that was going to take place in Pulau Ubin later in the night. We headed to Changi Village for dinner before meeting up with the rest and taking a boat to the island : )
We went to the German Girl Shrine and did the necessary setup. Our task - to summon spirits via two different types of ouija board (the western and chinese style) and communicate with them. Had a hard time convincing King Kong to allow me to participate in the experiment as he was afraid that things might go haywire and we all know that it's no fun offending the dead : / (I was so happy that I was allowed to be a participant though ; ) )
Did the necessary prayers to the deities in the German Girl Shrine and we proceeded with the western style ouija board. There were 3 participants - match80, mistak3 and me : ) and I must say I was so nervous, being left alone with the other 2 to summon the dead. The moment we chanted the lines, the atmosphere was heavily filled with tension and the cries of crickets were louder than usual. Though the coin did not move, both match80 and I heard coughings and shuffling of footsteps in the background ( He mentioned that he caught a whiff of opium in the air and he heard footsteps of children running around. I must say that I actually felt a force trying to push my middle finger, but I actually resisted it as I thought I might be hallucinating : P After 20 minutes, the coin did not move and we ended the experiment. However, I did feel drained : /
Proceeded to the second experiment despite King Kong's dagger stares. This time round was via the Chinese-styled ouija board - It was an A3 sized paper with hundreds of Chinese characters jumbled in a circular fashion. The participants were Jimmy (a 50 year-old Chinese guy who had a great passion for singing), mistak3 and me (again! yay!) We were told to recite some Taoist sutras and despite chanting a couple of times, the dish did not move. Jimmy began to chant louder and in a more aggressive manner, leaving both mistak3 and me puzzled and nervous. Sensing that he was about to go into trance, I cut him off and told him to relax (which he did, fortunately) The dish began to move in a swift and light manner and it answered our questions, straight to the point (There was no way one of us played punk as it was impossible for any of us to search the right Chinese character within seconds) At the end of the whole process, the dish moved in a swifter manner and stopped abruptly (which was later explained that it was accurate as the dish stopped the moment the "yin" hour was over. In addition, sensors went off as well : /)
As the second experiment was a success, it was unnecessary to execute Plan B, which was to conduct the whole experiment in the cemetery : ) We went back to the chalet where a debrief was held. We shared our thoughts and guess what? We were ready to go back to mainland : ) By the time we touched down, we were extremely exhausted : /
During the trip, King Kong made sure that I was mozzie-bite free by hanging a mozzie coil around me and ensuring that it was burning. He also made sure I was not hungry, well-hydrated and happy by constantly pushing me water and biscuits : / Didn't he know that I am on diet? : P Nevertheless, I must admit that he is really very sweet and I felt loved : )
That's me during the experiment. I looked tense eh? : P
