Batam Trip

Did I tell you that I went for a 2D 1N Batam trip with Rightie, Adeline and the rest? Batam is really a place for a short getaway. Seafood, booze, A&W and massage is cheap and good. However, I may not want to go back again, if given a choice, because of some bad experiences : (

Our personal driver who was supposed to pick us up at Batam Centre at 3pm, was late by over an hour and we did not know that the distance to our hotel, Holiday Inn, would be 30 minutes from town. By the time we reached the hotel, we were more tired than ever : ( In order not to waste more time, we met at the lobby and headed to Nagoya Hill Shopping Centre - an old shopping centre, that resembles the shopping centres at Chinatown. Nothing much to shop, nothing much to buy ; ( While the rest went to stroll around the mall, Rightie, Dickie Boi, Fat Boy and I went to A&W (yes, again!) to rest our sore calves.

Dinner was all about seafood and I must say it was not bad - we had crabs in chili and black pepper sauce, hotplate tofu, steamed fish, butter squid, stir-fried kale and sambal kangkong. Bintang beer was cheap and we gulped a couple of bottles while enjoying ge-tai : )

We went back to our hotel, washed up before gathering to enjoy snacks and Heineken beer which we bought at the local hypermart (A can of Heineken beer costs S$1.80 - We bought 14 cans) Played some drinking games till the wee hours. I believed everybody was gone even before their heads touched the pillow.

Breakfast was good and hearty at the hotel cafe. As usual, I had my sunny side-up, sausages and bread and yes, I had some fried bee hoon (it was good!) too. After breakfast, we went for a good backrub at Isabella Massage near Nagoya Shopping Centre. I had a 2 hour aromatherapy session for 30 bucks! Awwww....had a quick lunch at one of the many eateries at the top floor of Nagoya Shopping Centre and regret ordering fried chicken in strawberry sauce with rice. I thought it would be delicious, from what I saw in the menu, damn, it turned out to be inedible : (

We rushed back to the hotel to collect our barang barang before heading to the ferry terminal (Yes, everything was in time : ) ) The journey back home was nice and soothing as we sat at the top level of the ferry. I enjoyed the salty breeze so much that I dozed off...well, just nice for a good hot steamboat dinner when we reached home. Daddy and Mummy had prepared lotsa prawns, crabs and cuttlefish (yes, seafood again) : )

Snip!

Brother received his 1st paycheck last Tuesday and gave us a treat at Ichiban Sushi in Plaza Singapura. While waiting for him to end his guitar class at 8pm, I had a sudden urge to trim my hair. Had wanted to try Jeric Hair Salon, but my eyes popped when I saw the price list. 50 bucks for a haircut! : o I had my haircut at Chapter 2 instead and yes, I chose the S$28.80 package and was amazed that the receptionist who attended to me was the one who cut my hair. Though I was apprehensive, I decided to go ahead with it (Hair will grow right? : P) I started to regret my decision when she didn't seem to take my requests into consideration. Uh oh...It was a grueling 30 minute session and boy, I must be damn fortunate not to walk out of the salon in tears : ) (Actually, I am beginning to like it because it's kinda different from the normal same-length tresses - the other hairstylists advised me not to have layers as it would make my hair frizzy as I have natural hairwaves

I have also done some light packing for tomorrow's Batam 1 day 2 night trip : ) It's good to have a short rest and relax getaway : ) Yay! Hope it doesn't rain tomorrow. Looking so forward to the seafood, massages and fun!

By the way, I saw this navy sailor top at one of the blogshops and it reminds me of one of the tops Mummy had. I bought it, because of sweet memories : )

Yes, I bought it!

After 5 Months...

Gee, I am so ashamed to say that I have neglected my blog for nearly half a year. I ought to be shot! : ( Well, it seems I have no time to sit down and pen my thoughts when Fat Boy is always around (Tsk! It's not an excuse alright!) Oh yes, we have just spent our 1st year anniversary and I must say it was quite enjoyable - We had dinner at My Humble House. The place really brought back sweet memories : ) We recalled how worried we were due to the National Day Parade road closure, how much fun we had with the girls around, the exquisite food and the romantic atmosphere. I guess those guests who attended our wedding remember the restaurant's atmosphere more than the bride and bridegroom! (Nah, doesn't matter...: >)

Happy couple <3

I love this - Ice Fantasy!

We went to KTV at Partworld in Vivocity after dinner and crooned 4 hours' worth of songs. Though our throats felt a tad sore at the end of the session, we felt happy! Yay! Went to bed at 4am with a clean face but dirty scalp because I was too lazy to wash my hair - God knows how long it would take for my hair to dry! The downside of having long hair? Hehehe...

By the way, I must announce that I am a proud Godmummy of the tiny son of Sworn Sista : ) I am very happy for her and I must say she is darn fortunate! She wanted a Tiger boy and she got it~! Heard that her hubby and her had tried hard for 3 months for this little bundle of joy : ) One of my close friends, who is also my secondary school mate, Ping, gave birth to a Tiger princess 3 days before my godson. Every now and then when I am on Facebook, I keep seeing happy news of who and who is pregnant or who and who is going to pop soon, like Veggie Gal, who is going to give birth to a princess end of this month : ) I enjoy reading her updates on how she dealt with the highs and lows of pregnancy and she looks amazingly beautiful though she keeps complaining she looks bloated (Well, it's inevitable, girl...you cannot possibly look as stick-thin as a model right now...: ( )

Like what I told Sworn Sista before she popped, it's best to enjoy being a queen for the whole of 9 months before being a slave to the baby. It's best to enslave your hubby first before anything else - make sure you get all your cravings satisfied, even if it means driving all the way to Geylang just to get that bowl of tau huay! Such actions is nothing compared to carrying his descendant for backbreaking 9 months and the possibility of growing horizontal, getting bald, having pigmentation issues and calcium deficiency. Sworn Sista insisted touring Taiwan when she was a month shy of popping and everybody was so worried because you'll never know when the unborn kid decides to get naughty and pops before the due date. Fortunately, she came back safely and even had an induction to get the baby out - He was a couple of weeks late : P
