All along I always thought that losing my hearing in either ear is small issue; I was wrong. For the whole of last week, my left ear couldn't function and even a visit to the doctor near my house couldn't fix it - He gave me eardrops to dissolve the earwax and antibiotics (Whatever for?) Tried all kinds of methods to get the left ear going - King Kong dug loads of hardened earwax with an earpick, but there were still much left in the ear canal; Fat Boy tried using a syringe (which I bought for 45 cents in Guardian Pharmacy) filled with water to push the earwax out, but to no avail. Finally, I seek a second opinion in another doctor and this time round, he used a suction gun to extract the hardened earwax and I must say that the whole process was painful, despite the doctor's assurance >_<" It was finally over in 15 minutes and I was so glad that I could hear with my left ear again! Yay! : )
Last Wednesday, I met King Kong for dinner at Newton Circus. We had sambal kangkong, stingray and 2 plates of half-cooked cockles (Hello, Hepatitis A!) Loved the bloodied fat and tender flesh of cockles...yummy! After that, we proceeded to meet up with Adeline, Veggie Girl and Sunshine Boy at TCC in Circular Street. Enjoyed the in-depth conversation revolving the topic of two-timing (though I must say the act itself is pretty tiring!) while sipping banana smoothie : D~ Really hope that Veggie Girl will pull out of the sticky situation soon!
As for yesterday, left the office at 12:30pm and had mixed rice at Scissors Curry Rice (The mixture of gravy on rice is so fantastic!) before seeking for the famous Joo Chiat fortune teller. Was quite appalled by her accuracy in her description of my character (How did she know so much about me just by looking at my 8 characters?) Anyway, I need to go back to her sometime next week and hope things improve for me : ) As it was still early, I went for my treatment (Brrrr!) before having dinner at KFC and a horror movie (Rule #1 - It sucks big time). Saw Sunshine Boy and Veggie Girl sitting at Pastamania after walking out of the theatre and we had a short chat before going home : ) (Life is full of coincidences eh?)
Regardless, I am so happy that today is finally Friday! : ) The server's down again and well, here I am, slacking away : ) Yay! After work, I am going to Brewerkz with the guys for a pint or two. Wonderful! : ) I am so looking forward to 6pm tonight!

Not Again!~
Gee, the server is down again, hence it means it's free time for me again! (Yay!) Guess it's just not healthy for a company to be like that most of the time : / Not sure when the server will be up though.
Yesterday evening, after the dreadful sales meeting, both Adeline & I walked to Molly Malone's at Boat Quay to join the rest of the guys for Guinness Stout - It was St Patrick's Day and we wanted to absorb the Irish atmosphere : ) Fat Boy joined us afterwards. Ultimately, we had great fun mingling around (though we were at times disgusted by a couple of slang-spouting people), gulping our black stuff and chomping fried finger food (with courtesy from SunShine Boy) : D
We left halfway as the rest had plans to go bar-hopping; went to Waraku at Marina Square to have dinner (or supper). As I didn't want to feel gorged, I had sushi platter whereas Adeline had soupy udon and Fat Boy had salmon teriyaki (That guy's afraid of putting on weight as well!) After the light but good dinner (or supper), we went home to bring Boyboy for a stroll (Guess my beastie brother needs good exercise to strengthen his muscles. Do I need it as well?)
When I reached home and wanted to wash my dirty hands, the excruciating headache came back. Yeah, talking about the sink....
The night before, King Kong had a hard time fixing the pipes : / Initially, I thought it was a simple but dirty task (I knew jolly well that the dirty pipes needed a good wash), but I was wrong; it was a dirty and hard task. King Kong removed and washed all the pipes whereas I was sitting there looking like a pretty vase and boiling hot water (to remove the oily sludge). Ultimately, we failed and King Kong ended up with cuts on his palms, oily stains on his T-shirt and of course, disappointment on his face (He thought it was chicken feet, but...) Gave him 20 bucks for his cab ride as it was impossible to go home in a bus (Imagine the stench). Regardless, I was thankful of his efforts : )
Gee, the server is still down...(I popped my head and saw Boss looking disgruntled while on the phone with the SingTel call-centre staff; well, it meant money loss by the minute with us doing nothing) Then again, who cares? I am going for my lunch an hour plus later! Yay!

Red Eye
Woke up at 7:33am (King Kong woke me up at 7:30am, but I refused to wake up till 3 minutes later) this morning and felt my left eye stinging and filled with crusting (What happened?) Walked to the bathroom, took a good look at the mirror and saw my left pupil surrounded by red blood vessels. Freaked out and decided not to go to work (It was a bad day at work yesterday as the left eye gave me problems). Went back to slumberland ( - . - ) ZzZzzzz
After much nudging from King Kong who was at work, I finally woke up and made my way to the doctor's. Spent 24 bucks on the consultation, 2 types of eyedrops and MC (The most important thing), I doggy packed lunch on my way back : )
Yesterday evening, I went for my cold wrap treatment straight after work. Initially, I thought I would be frozen to death by the chill from both the cold wrap and the rainy weather, but miraculously, I did not feel as cold as on normal days : ) (Am I getting stronger by the day?) Met up with King Kong and went to Han's at Far East Plaza to have my soul-comforting bee hoon and Chinese tea. After that, we strolled to Takashimaya before making our way home : )
The night before, I met up with Fat Boy to have steamboat dinner at Golden Mile in Beach Road. After that, as it was still early, we drove to T3 (It was boring to walk around the shopping centres in town) and had drinks at TCC. I had a pot of lemon ginger green tea, whereas he had a coffee drink and a slice of Dark Devotion, chocolate brownie with hot melted chocolate liquid inside. After chatting, playing mobile phone games and sharing of ring tones, we proceeded to explore the road leading to Old Changi Hospital and was disappointed with zilch results..: ( (Thought we could come across some paranormal entities)
On Sunday morning, went to Vivocity to buy white-peppered crab for Gramps - It was a birthday gift for her and it meant a big hole in my pocket (What the hell, 55 bucks for a crab?!) After that, both King Kong and I went to Novena Square and Junction 8 to walk around (It was really very dry and I thought it would be better if I could stay at home and sleep) before meeting up with Adeline and Berline to go for our eyebrow embroidery touch-up >_<"
I was the first one to go into the small air-conditioned room and while the assistant of the eyebrow specialist was applying antiseptic onto my brow bones, she tried to sell me services of lip and eyelid embroidery and all I did was to smile weakly to her. Knowing that I would never be a potential client, she shut her trap (Great strategy to act as a bimbo eh) and I proceeded to have my fading eyebrows fixed by the eyebrow specialist. I thought the pain would be unbearable; just like the previous time, but it turned out to be manageable : ) Guess I have already achieved "Nirvana" from the tattooing of the Phoenix on the left side of my thigh : )

Indulgence
Though it was Friday, I felt so lethargic and bored - The working environment was getting more and more dead by the day and there was never a morning I did not toy with the idea of getting an MC : ( Dragged myself to work and the moment numerous emails flooded into my inbox, I felt nauseous (and confirmed that I should not have reported to work at all). Decided to surf the Net and it lasted for the whole day...
Had a short lunch with Adeline at a coffeeshop in Phillips Street. Ordered rice with curry chicken and veggies : ) Initially had wanted to order a can of chrysanthemum tea, but chose A&W Mug rootbeer instead as I was desperate for a sugar reload : ) (It had been a long time since I had soft drinks : P ) Rushed to meet up with King Kong at the MRT station because I wanted to pass him the box of Panadol, which I bought for him (The poor guy was running a fever and his hands felt chillingly cold : ( ) Accompanied him to have his lunch - I helped him order a bowl of sliced fish porridge and made sure he finished up : P
As for dinner, I met up with Fat Boy after his facial (That guy's getting more and more vain each day) at Plaza Singapura. Together, we went to Crawford Lane to have bak chor mee (I am so sick of pretentious East-meets-West fusion) before proceeding to Geylang to have durians (Yummy!) The flesh was so bittersweet and creamy that I had forgotten about my weight-loss program : ( Had numerous seeds before realizing they were indeed high in calories and if I continued to eat, my efforts would go down the drain. I stopped immediately and left Fat Boy to finish up everything : P
As it was still early, we went to Loyang Tua Pek Kong Temple to offer incense. Not sure what day it was, but the whole place was filled with crowd and smoke (My eyes teared a couple of times and I had to constantly make sure that my eyeliner did not run) Left the temple as I felt sleepy and he sent me home.
Right now, Aunt Maddy is frying nian gao (My god! Does she know the time right now is 1am?!) and she is trying to induce both Brother and me to eat. I refused as I had too much of an indulgence today and gee, fried nian gao is definitely a killer..

Dinner At Geylang
Woke up at 10am this morning - Daddy popped by and woke me up. Jumped out of bed and greeted him a big warm "Daddy!!" (He always loves that!) Read the newspapers and watched as the former was playing with my beastie brother (Who else but Boyboy?) However, he left after a while and I was sad that Aunt Maddy had to work as well (it meant that I had to buy my own lunch : ( ) Initially, I had wanted to ask King Kong to accompany me for lunch; ultimately decided not to as I needed my precious beauty sleep : P
Hunger made me get up from my lazy butt; Doggy-bagged mixed veggie rice consisting of soya-sauced chicken drumstick, cabbage as well as fried fish (What the hell, 4 bucks!) After chomping down lunch and surfing the Internet (waiting for digestion, lest my tummy got bigger...), I quickly plopped onto my bed and drifted into slumberland (Having a nap in the day is equivalent to a short stint in Paradise. Awwwwww...) However, just before I could reach deep sleep, my mobile phone rang. It was King Kong. Feeling pissed, after a few nasty words and agreeing to meet him for dinner, I hung up and yes, this time round, I achieved deep sleep : )
Woke up at 4:45pm and feeling groggy, I called King Kong. Had wanted to tell him to cancel the dinner appointment, but after realizing that he was already on his way, I aborted the idea. Bathed my beastie brother (imagine the stench after a week) and after washing myself up, I met King Kong at my void deck. Together, we took Bus 51 to Geylang to have dinner.
We settled for the famous black-beaned beef hor fan and my favorite sweet & sour pork. It had been a few good years since I had the former (Fat Boy cannot take beef : P ) Had wanted to eat the famous Yong He beancurd next door, but realized that the shop had shifted to Lorong 27A. We strolled down and found the place, and was shocked to find it empty. Guess not many people knew about the new place. Ordered beancurd and omelette-cum-pork floss pastry (I only had one bite!) and I felt that the standard had dropped (Or was I too full?)
In addition, I bought the famous Tanjong Rhu mini char siew buns and peaches for Gramps; I thought she might like them : ) We continued to walk all the way to Bugis Junction and we had great fun chatting despite the long distance : ) (Not sure what exactly we chat though) Guess by the time we reached, we had fully burnt the calories from dinner and dessert : ) Took a lazy stroll around the shopping mall and went home via Bus 51.

Stuffing himself with food?
Trying to pacify me to eat?
I think Duckie is quite cute..

The Road Is Long...
Last Friday night, after feeling so despondent about my poor sales performance and the dilemma of my Accounts Executive candidate, I ran out of the office with Adeline and the guys to Loof (Guess I just needed to chill on the last day of the lousy month) - Not a bad place to have drinks and finger-food. Met up with both Fat Boy and Rightie and we had a great time catching up and sipping our cocktails and beer. Had 2 glasses of strawberry margarita, 2 bottles of Heineken and a glass of Looflive (Their signature mixture consisting lotsa of mint sprigs! Boo.)
As the reservation of our table lasted till 9:30pm, we had to leave the place for another (Come on, the night was still young!~) We settled for Balaclava, which was nearby. Had Long Island Tea, with courtesy from Veggie Girl, who had won a sum of money in Toto Hongbao : ) Had a great time gossiping and snapping pictures : ) By the time I reached home, I was as dead as a log and I fell into deep slumber the moment my wet head touched the toasty pillow...ZzzZzzzZzzz...

Woke up at 11am this morning (Thanks to King Kong who woke me up >: ( ) He mentioned that he had finished his exams and would be waiting at my void deck. Did a quick washing up and went to meet him (Had wanted to bathe Boyboy - it had been a week and he smell : ( ) Took a bus to Chinatown to have dim sum for lunch. After that, we strolled to the National Museum - Bought tickets to the Louvre exhibition. Was quite disappointed by its shallowness; Initially, I thought there might be extensive historical background about the various Greek figures, like Anthena, Eros and Ares (A waste of money : /) We walked out of the exhibition hall to another gallery, which was about our local cuisine like char kway tiao and chicken rice (I guess we prefer the latter as we could better relate to it)
After enhancing our arty farty exposure, we proceeded to the Waterloo temple to make some offerings. As I was feeling very dehydrated, I suggested going to the bubble tea hut at Bugis Junction (At that point of time, I could feel my legs breaking) and after sipping the cool and sweet syrup with carbohydrate-laden tapioca starch, we walked to Lau Pa Sat to have dinner. Had beef satay, sambal stingray, chili kangkong, blanched gong gong and cockles (Wow, I love the bloody cockles, but not for long - they made my skin itch)
Had wanted to take the bus to the Flyer, but as we were too full, we felt that it would be better to burn the calories by walking (not again!) By the time we reached the place, we were exhausted and it didn't help that we had to queue for about 45 minutes just to get into the capsule. The ride enabled us to have a good bird's eye view of Singapore, but it was not worth the money, which I rather put into good use! Feeling exhausted by the walking marathon, we took Bus 51 home.....
