Rex

It has been a week since Rex joined the family : ) So far so good, he's eating and sleeping well and he has no problem blending into the family; well, perhaps only for Gramps (She still misses Boyboy very much and she feels that she is betraying him by accepting the newcomer)

Have been spending lotsa time housebreaking Rex. Though troublesome and tedious, it's necessary because I do not want the latter to poo and pee around the place (Yvonne's Cookie does that and she is living in regret now : P ) Both Fat Boy and I have been observing the pup's habits and we worked towards adjusting these habits, like he would poop within 15 minutes after his meal, so we would confine him to the bathroom and only after he does his act, we would praise and give him a piece of kribble as treat (Smart eh?) Of course, there were times he would drive us mad by peeing and pooping at his favourite corners. Arghhh..guess it just takes lotsa patience to train a dog to be good > <"

By the way, my damn ankle has not fully recovered yet, even after 3 visits to Chien Chi Tow and every single session hurts like fuck and sometimes, I wish I could scream vulgarities at the therapist who has no qualms about using all her force on my swollen ankle : ( I am going for my treatment again tomorrow and seriously, I hate that feeling...Arghhhh...!!

Anyway, last Saturday, after my treatment at Chien Chi Tow, I met up with my university mates at Billy Bombers in Cathay for dinner (The food was not fantastic) and coffee at TCC outside Plaza Singapura. It was great to know that one of them is going to get married (Her boyfriend proposed to her last month) : ) Sunday was Rest & Relax day - both Fat Boy and I stayed at home with Rex until dinnertime. We walked to Anchorpoint Foodcourt to have seafood pasta. Simple, but nice weekend : )

                                          Rex is cute eh?

Weekends!

Fat Boy and I will be collecting the new 2-month old puppy from the homebreeder tonight : ) Exciting eh? I wonder how Gramps and Aunt Maddy would react (though I am very sure the latter will morph into an angry orang utan) Why I choose this particular pup from this particular homebreeder is the former is rather stable and calm, unlike his boisterous siblings (I guess hyperactive pooches are not really suitable for me) and he doesn't struggle when you hold him (This is important because if he struggles, it means that he is either withdrawn; not comfortable with strangers or he has been mistreated by his breeder before) As for this particular homebreeder, he's in his early thirties and knows his stuff well. He specializes in breeding miniature pinschers and chihuahuas and has written an article on the former breed. Well, he comes as a relief because after speaking to many dog sellers in Pasir Ris Farmway, knowledgeable ones are far and few and some even quote exhorbitant prices like 3,000 bucks for a toy poodle but have zilch knowledge of its background : S

After viewing and selecting the pooch, we set off to Pet Movers at Pasir Ris Farmway to purchase the necessary stuff, like puppy kribbles, leash, metal bowls and puppy shampoo (Well, I used the 50 bucks which Fat Boy helped to bargain for its stuff. Good deal eh?) We had dinner at Ikea Bistro and the teriyaki chicken rice was fantastic : D We walked around till 10pm and headed home : )

As for Saturday, the beach outing was cancelled due to poor response. I cannot fathom why some friends changed their minds at the 11th hour, especially when the event was created weeks in advance. *Sigh* I guess I wouldn't be keen to organize such outings anymore. It's not as if I stand to gain by doing the dirty job of having to remind each and everyone via text messages : < Fortunately, Adeline and her mummy as well as Sunshine Boy saved the day by having dinner with me and Fat Boy at Bosses in Vivocity : ) We had honeyed pork ribs, spinach in buttered broth, deep fried prawns in wasabi and salted egg sauce, braised chicken in 3 different types of wine, and salted-egg custard buns for dessert! : D~

As Adeline and her mummy had something on after dinner, Sunshine Boy, Fat Boy and I proceeded to Serenity Spanish Bar & Restaurant for Erdinger : ) It was great to have an ice cold after so long...: ) Seriously, I do look forward to meeting up with my dear friends again : D

By the way, did I tell you I sprained my ankle 2 weeks back and I went for treatment at Chien Chi Tow at Rocher Centre. It was disgustingly painful when the therapist pressed onto the sore spot. I yelled so loud that the other patients could hear me from outside : p My ankle was bandaged for a day before I removed it - Too much inconvenience : /

Saturday & Sunday

Went to Pasir Ris Farmway 2 with Fat Boy yesterday afternoon and was amazed by the myriad of puppy breeds, which the main ones were shih tzu, toy poodle, maltese and Golden Retrievers. These puppies really know how to tug heartstrings with their big eyes and playful behavior. I was so tempted to purchase a black toy poodle on the spot, but was dissuaded by Fat Boy as he felt that we might not cope with its curly fur : (
We went from shop to shop to look at the puppies as well as to gather information. Most of the shops were very run-down and it was a sad sight to see dirty puppies stepping on their own defecate (How to buy these puppies?) It made me wonder if I had stepped into a pet shop or puppy pound : S Some of the shops charge these puppies at exhorbitant prices (Imagine a toy poodle at 3,000 bucks!) I had the initial idea of getting a miniature pinscher, but after looking at these cute puppies, I was in a great dilemma on whether I should purchase a toy poodle, shih tzu or miniature pinscher *Sigh!* They are so cute, active and obedient! Awww....<3

We spent about 4 hours looking at countless of puppies and by the time we stepped out of Farmway 2, it was already 7pm - Time for dinner. Had wanted to have dinner at Scissors Cut Mixed Veggie Rice, but it was closed for renovation. In the end, we doggypacked dinner from ABC Market - I had chicken bryani whereas Fat Boy had seafood Hokkien noodles : D I did a check over the Internet and after weighing the pros and cons, I decided to get a miniature pinscher. I guess I would pop by Farmway 2 one of these days to get that pooch from Pet Movers. A cool 588 bucks. I think it's quite reasonable for a pooch, as compared to 880 bucks for a shih tzu, 1580 bucks for a brown teddy toy poodle, 1800 bucks for a pug and 1200 bucks for a miniature beagle.

As for last Saturday, we had a birthday dinner gathering (It was Godma's 45th birthday) at Joo Heng Restaurant , which served authentic Hokkien cuisine at Joo Chiat. I like the sweet & sour fish, sambal tapioca leaves and deep-fried prawn rolls best amongst the black bean fish head, steamed minced pork, claypot seafood toufu, fried pig liver and kidney and pork ribs with bittergourd : D The price, however, was on the slightly high side. Each person paid about 13 bucks : )

We proceeded to Kallang MacDonald's for cake-cutting after dinner and yes, I was the one who bought the Chocolate Truffle cake from Polar (They have good cakes) We talked about the coming Halloween party at Punggol Community Centre and what to wear for this event (I seriously have no idea what to wear though they suggested Cleopatra's costume due to my hairstyle)

Cool? Bah, I cannot be possibly wearing that!

Fat Fat Week

I've just come back from steamboat dinner at Tan Quee Lan Street with Fat Boy, Sworn Sista and her hubby. Gee, I guess I am getting sick of that particular stall as I couldn't really eat much (Something to do with the soup base?) I had the usual prawns, kangkong, mutton slices and porkballs (Well, that's steamboat) Proceeded to Crystal Jade Hong Kong Cafe and had Chinese tea (to remove the sickening oil from the soup base) as well as a few mouthfuls of aloe vera with osmanthus in honey (Yikes!) I didn't really like the place, so I guess I wouldn't patronize it anymore : /

Last Thursday was the 3rd session of my 535-bucks treatment : ) After the steambath, I was given a good deadsea salt scrub before being wrapped in an electric hot blanket (I really felt like a steamed herbal chicken) for 15 minutes. Just as when I thought I could meet Fat Boy for dinner at Han's, I was ushered into a room where I was told to lie down before gel pads were pasted onto various parts of my body and tiny flows of electric currents streamed into these problematic areas like the arms, thighs and tummy. The feeling was like being thrown into spasm and after 30 minutes, I was amazed that I had lost a few inches and grams(Come on, it's temporary) After the 2 hour session, I dashed out of the centre and met up with my starved Fat Boy. We headed to MacDonald's and had our late dinner : / Guess what? I was so damn shocked to see meat juice that dripped from my plain cheeseburger hardened into wax-like substance after a few minutes. Transfat? I reckon so. I guess I will not be touching so much on fastfood for the rest of my life because you never know what would go into your system after eating these junk. Argh!!

As for last Wednesday, I handed Sworn Sista her belated birthday gift over dinner at Jack's Place in Anchorpoint. Both of us had lobster bisque, medium-rare striploin steak with jacket potato and sauteed onions as sides and a slice of mango cake : D~ I really enjoyed the meal as it had been such a long time since I allowed myself to indulge : D (Who cares about being fat so long as you are happy?) While happily gossipping while strolling along Alexandra Road, I twisted my ankle (Ouch!) I thought it was a minor injury and had wanted to continue walking; but I couldn't and had to limp back home : (

Tuesday was having doggypacked mixed veggie rice at home with Fat Boy. As if my packet of rice with soya sauced chicken wing, stirfried onion egg, cabbage and sambal tapioca leaves was not enough, I had a handful of Jack & Jill potato chips and a few Van Houten chocolate balls while watching TV (Life's great, isn't it?)

Regardless of such hearty appetite, I lost 2kg. How wonderful it is eh? Wahahaha...: D~
