After a satisfying lunch of soupy noodles and iced lemon tea at Golden Shoe Foodcourt, my dearest lunch khakis and I strolled to one of the cafes at The Arcade to have coffee (I had Chinese tea : P ) While sipping the hot Chinese tea, I nearly puked when Veggie Gal asked who I would choose to marry between Fat Boy and King Kong (Tough question eh?) Though I told her casually that I would not choose either of them, deep down inside me, I panicked because I did not have the answer : (
Work was a drudgery - As I did not have sufficient sleep the night before, I felt like taking a long afternoon nap at my workstation (Nevermind that my pillow and bolster were not with me); and since I could not, I chomped down two small tomatoes to keep me awake : ) It didn't help that the duration of the weekly sales meeting was extended because Boss wanted to find out the reasons for our poor performance for this month. We told him all the "why"s as candidly as we could, but as usual, his solutions were clique (I refused to comment on his solution, else we could be going home at 8pm)
After the irritating weekly sales meeting, I rushed out of the office to meet King Kong, who was waiting at the lobby for me. Together, we went to Lido at Orchard Road to exchange the vouchers (which I won in an SPI competition) for "The House" movie tickets. Had Subway while watching the show and ultimately, it did not meet up to our expectations : ( However, this time round, I did not spat or swear at the show, which I usually would for lousy shows. Haha..
As it was still early, we strolled from Orchard Road to Zion Road and settled down for a drink (and oily carrot cake for him) before taking the bus home.

Few Days Back...
Last Thursday, both Adeline & I organized a pre-birthday celebration dinner and drinks for Rightie : ) Immediately after work, we went to Topshop to shop for a gift for her. As I am one who sucks in getting presents, Adeline made all the decisions - We got her a pair of Wonderwoman undies and 2 necklaces : ) Met up with Rightie at Orchard MRT station control and we strolled to The Marmalade Pantry in Palais Renaissance.
The menu looked interesting with all kinds of fusion despite limited variety. As I was on diet, I had chicken and bacon club whereas Adeline and Rightie had salmon and soba and pasta in tomato-and-crab based sauce respectively : ) After a sinful dinner, we proceeded to Alleybar to have some drinks. Ordered my usual poison - Strawberry Margarita and Rightie followed suit; Adeline had kiwi flavor : ) Did lotsa catching-up and of course, we never failed to touch on the topic of guys and sex (We are cosmopolitans yeah? At the same time, I realized I had a serious phobia on sex. Don't ask me why) : P As Rightie couldn't bear to part with us so soon, she ordered a round of lychee and strawberry martinis (Thanks Rightie!) : ) and after gulping down the lethal poison, I decided we had to make a move as it was getting late (My bedtime was drawing nearer and nearer...)
As for Friday night, I went to Bosses at Vivocity to have a late dinner (Sharon and Isaac arrived at 8pm : ( ) before proceeding to watch Trade, a Mexican movie about human trafficking (Initially, I was sulking about not having to watch "Dan In Real Life" and had qualms about watching the latter...) I was glad that I agreed to watch it with them, else I would have missed such a great show : ) *Thumbs up to Adeline who selected the movie!*
As for yesterday, I went for my 2nd session of treatment. As usual, I was put on a cold wrap and for the 1st few minutes, I thought I could withstand the cold; but the biting chill started to eat into me after that : ( I stood up and walked around in the small room in the hope that it helped; obviously, it didn't and to make my money's worth, I actually requested for time extension - By the time, they unwrapped me, I guess I had frozen. I could do nothing except hoping to dash to the warmer outdoors : / Went to East Coast Park to cycle before proceeding to Terminal 3 to have Popeyes and Biscuits (A huge disappointment) and to Geylang to have warm soya bean milk before I finally got home to have my beauty sleep... : D

Pursuit of Perfection
Dashed to International Building after work yesterday. Excited, I kept wondering what kind of treatment I would undergo and if my identity would be exposed..(Bought the remaining slimming sessions from Angie. Hence, I would be "Angie" instead of "Joanne" the moment I stepped into the centre..)
I was met with warm reception by a slimming consultant in her 40's. She ushered me into a small room and took measurements of my body. Fast and furious questions of "Why did you stop our treatments for 2 years?", "What was your diet for the 2 years?", "You went overseas? What were you doing there?" were shot at me. Though I gave beautiful and convincing replies, I felt extremely stressful : ( It didn't help that she was pushing an arm reduction technology package at a hefty price of S$2,000 to me (She must be attacking on my weakness. Dammit!) I must admit that I nearly succumbed to her pressure selling tactic; however, due to some reasons, I refused to sign the acknowledgment form that she was pushing into my face. Helpless, she finally allowed me to have my treatment - The cold wrap!
I was ushered into another small room where I had to strip and wear only a pair of disposable panties. After that, layers of bandages soaked in icy cold solution were wrapped around my bare thighs, tummy, back and arms (I nearly died of hypothermia!) and I had to be bound for 25 minutes (Frankly speaking, I had doubts if I could cope with the extreme coldness) While sitting on the sofa, I sent texts to Angie, asking her if the arm reduction technology package was necessary and she said it was not. Her advice was to finish the remaining treatments before deciding whether to go for it (which I agreed..) When the grueling 25 minutes were up, bandages were taken off me and I was given a pail of boiling hot water to wash myself up. Had great difficulties wiping myself because I was all stiff from the cold : (
The moment I wanted to walk out of the place, one of the slimming consultant's assistants called out to me, asking me to pay a deposit for the arm reduction technology program. Feeling damn pissed from the cold and pressure from them, I told her straight in the face that I was no longer keen and that I just wanted to use up the remaining treatments. Realizing that I was no longer the mild client, they backed off and I stormed out of the centre feeling disappointed and angry.
Met up with Fat Boy to have dinner at Bakerzin in Paragon. While he ordered teriyaki chicken thigh with rice (my favorite), I had tofu salad with a few pieces of chicken breast : ( Felt ultra sad about the whole issue and poured all my grievances to him. Instead of consoling me, he pointed out my mistakes (which I must admit I felt sore!) At the end of the day, I resumed my chirpy self and I was glad that I had learnt something from the incident : )
Then again, one thing that I am very adamant is that if I have to omit rice from my diet, I will discontinue all slimming programs >: ( I rather be chubby than to suffer from rice withdrawal symptoms all the time!

Precious Saturday
My Saturday was burnt once again. That was the 2nd Saturday since Bintan (came home at around 4pm on Saturday!) Dread it because I couldn't have my me-time : ( This time round, it was the quarterly workshop (I don't see the point). It was held at Hotel Rendezvous (Bah! Getting lousier and lousier!) and the worst thing about the whole affair was that we had to arrive at 8am sharp!
As I slept at 2am on Friday night, I had problems waking up on Saturday morning : ( Jumped out of bed and quickly took a quick shower before choosing what clothes to wear. Settled for a black short-sleeved shirt and a pencil skirt. Just when I thought I could save money by taking the MRT, my eyeliner failed me : ( No matter how hard I drew, I just couldn't achieve balance on both sides. Angry, I just did whatever I could and proceeded to blow my hair to prevent flyaways : ( (The price of vanity!) After that, I quickly gulped down the warm honey drink that Gramps prepared for me and dashed out of the house. As the time was already 7:20am, I reckoned I would be terribly late if I were to take the MRT, hence I took the cab - The damage was S$6.80 (What the hell)
I was early when I arrived - Most of my colleagues had not turned up and I was looking around the place and going to the ladies to ensure my hair was in place. Finally, the event started at 8am sharp and we had fun with the presentations and games (No doubt, I still prefer my me-time!) Time passed faster this time round as brainstorming sessions were omitted and very soon, we had lunch at the Straits Cafe. Initially thought that its buffet was good, but it was a disappointment - Had some pieces of sashimi and sushi, a bowl of laksa soup with tau pok and a whole mountain of rock melon! : )
After such lousy lunch, Adeline, Sharon, Sunshine Boy and I walked to a bazaar at SMU before proceeding to This Fashion to shop for clothes (Unfortunately, there was nothing much for me to buy : ( ) As I was feeling drowsy from the humid weather and a full stomach, I headed straight home for a nap whereas both Adeline and Deryx went to Adam's house (We bumped into him on the street) for drinks and Sharon went window-shopping with her mother-in-law.
It was indeed fantastic to have a short nap : ) Recharged, I met up with Fat Boy for dinner at Sakae Sushi before catching a Thai horror movie, Body #19, before I went home. Well, though the 1st half of my Saturday was burnt, I was glad that I had a tiny bit of me-time for myself : )
(I just hope that the next quarterly workshop doesn't come so fast! I hate my Saturdays burnt!)

"Auntie"
Was quite excited to browse through the many pictures which we have taken during our Bintan retreat and after looking at them, I was devastated - I realized I have grown fatter and I am in the midst of morphing into an "Auntie" (NoOOoOoooO~~!) Could it due to the irregular intake of royal jelly and primrose oil capsules? Insufficient jogging? Frequent booze guzzling? Or simply just the unkempt hairstyle which caused my face to look fat (I have since trimmed it to a nice blunt-fringe-bob when I came back from Bintan : P ) ?
Paranoid, I went to Aunt Helen's for facial yesterday. It felt good knowing that she had cleansed the dirt from my pores as well as tighten the skin around the circumference of my jaw (to prevent a double chin!) Bought a bar of seaweed soap from her as well (I realized I cannot use other from-the-shelf cleansers as they are too harsh on my delicate skin!) After spending 94 bucks at Aunt Helen's, both Fat Boy and I went to Pastamania to have our pasta dinner - I had marinara and without knowing, I had wolfed down the whole plate of spaghetti (how bloody sinful) Afraid, I went to burn the carbs from the spaghetti by pounding the pavement. It had been quite sometime since I jogged and it felt indeed great : )
Just now, both Fat Boy and I went to the gym to pound on the treadmill. Though he was not feeling too well, he went ahead because he did not want to disappoint me (how sweet!) After I lost 200kJ of calories and 500g of mass, we went to have bak kut teh for dinner : ) Because he was not feeling too well, I had wanted to send him home before taking a bus back home, but he refused. In the end, he sent me home despite feeling slightly weak.
Though sad to know that age has caught up with me (by looking at the texture and color of my skin), hope I can prevent myself from becoming "Auntie" by doing more exercise and not "conveniently forgetting" to pop my royal jelly and primrose oil capsules. I hope I can do it..
Before I forget, I am going to pop my Primrose Oil capsule right now..

Back From Bintan (Again!)
Finally back from Bintan after 3 days and 2 nights..Imagine going to the same place 3 times for the past year (Argh!)
1st day:
I felt nauseous throughout the ferry journey because of the choppy waters (monsoon season, duh!) It didn't help that we had to sit on the upper deck of the ferry (we were too busy shopping for beer at DFS to take note of the time : ( ) I thought my tolerance level was high, but it nearly gave way when I saw other passengers coughing and puking into the blue plastic bag (Ewwww...)
Reached Nirwana Gardens and after putting our hand-carry, we immediately hopped onto a private bus to Pasar Oleh Oleh to have lunch (I was starved!) Walked around the place and realized that there were not much changes - Prices remained exorbitant (when will these people ever learn?) Settled at Helo Helo Cafe and had fried chicken with rice : ) After that, we wasted no time (and a good deal) - we had aromatherapy. Other than the body scrub, which was too harsh on my silky back, I found the Indonesian massage good : )
Feeling oily (and fat) all over, both Sharon and I jumped into the swimming pool after we went back to the resort. It was a good swim. The water was cold enough to cause hypothermia and the air was chilly enough to make your hair stand : P After 20 minutes, we hopped out of the pool and washed up for dinner....at the kelong : P We felt excited about having dinner at the kelong because we anticipated that it would be good and hearty with fresh seafood which was just caught from the sea - We were so wrong. The quality of the seafood was substandard (how sick)
Went back to the resort and since both Adeline and I were so tired, we decided not to engage in any night drinking sessions. We chose to slack by watching TV and having our beauty sleep : ) (Good choice!)
2nd day:
Breakfast was buffet-style. As usual, I had my sunny side-up, bread and sausage. In addition, I had Teochew congee with salted egg and pickled veggies as well (nothing beats that!) Went for the teambuilding games and I was so shocked that the activities were so simple and short (no fun at all : ( ) But I was impressed with Boss for being so game (he volunteered to be the clown for the last segment) After that, we went for a cool dip and "pool monkey". Good clean fun. After washing the chlorine from the hair and skin, we headed to the resort's cafe to have dinner buffet, which I thought the food sucked. Ultimately, I had only a few mouthfuls of ginger rice, bread with butter, chicken satay and watermelon (I hope I lost weight that night!)
Because we did not turn up for the night drinking session on the 1st night, both Adeline and I decided to give it a shot this time round. Had great fun, but it was short-lived - Our attention was drawn to "Snakes On A Plane" and we went to bed after that.
3rd day:
Woke up late in the morning and went for breakfast buffet (I am so sick of food > _ < ) After that, we packed up, rested and watched TV before taking snapshots of ourselves : ) Was so glad to go home as I was so sick of the food. Guess if I were to stay there for another few days, I would morph into an anorexic..The journey back to Singapore, though not as bad as the one to Bintan, ultimately, I felt sick...It could be the lactose from the Haagen Daaz vanilla ice cream.. : (

Happy 2008!
Woke up with a startle! I was super late; I forgot to set the alarm - I overslept! (Uh oh...) After having a good dinner of mee tai bak, I felt drained and decided to take a nap before going jogging to burn the excess calories, packing my stuff for the Bintan retreat as well as wrapping up the day with King Kong..(but I overslept : ( ) Guess he's sleeping right now as well : /
On New Year's eve, I met up with Fat Boy for lunch before going to Sentosa. It has been quite sometime since I last stepped into the idyllic place : ) Realized that I was not that fit afterall when I was perspiring like mad and feeling slightly faint after walking for a while. It didn't help at all with the humid weather and the mozzies that kept stinging my beautiful pins. What the hell! (It would be so different and nice if I could just lay naked on the massage table! Argh! Yes, I was just hallucinating) However, we had fun snapping pictures while threading along Dragon Trail : ) After a good walk, we went to Bobby's at Chijmes to have dinner (I had steak to replenish the loss of energy and an ice cold Heineken to cool myself down - well, how to lose weight like that?!) before he sent me to Godpa's house.
Was happy to meet up with King Kong, but the moment he started his nonsense, I was turned off. However, it did not mar my New Year mood : ) Had great fun at Godpa's house with all the fun people, wine and food : ) I really like him and his family because they are so giving. It's rare to find giving people around - I aspire to be like him and Godma when I have my own house. I do not mind inviting friends to my place and clearing up the mess, all for the sake of fun : ) Spent crossing over to 2008 with happy people is really meaningful : )
King Kong sent me home in a cab after that. Before that, we had a brief argument and he hurt his fist when he hit it against a metal backrest of the bus-stop (I felt so sick) when I told him not to pursue anything with me anymore. I told him that he would not be the one whom I want to spend my life with. He turned hysterical and was on the verge of breakdown. Before he could do that, his gastric attack started and I wasted no time in hopping into the cab so that he could go home and rest..In the cab, I felt sad for him - To be frank, he did so many things for me such that I could feel much love for him. It would be fantastic if the love was reciprocal..I very much had wanted to make it work..but...(long story) Anyway, he is quite a good catch with his physique and looks, and he's working his way up : ) (But too bad..for me)
Anyway, my resolution for 2008:

- To work harder in BGC and double my fortune by end of the year
- To settle down with the one I love by end of year (I decided not to be pressurized by wedding invitations, relatives and friends anymore! Grrrrrrr!)
